Dear Colleagues,
The CIML will hold its 45th Meeting in Orlando, FL, USA
from Tuesday 21 through Friday 24 September 2010 (morning).
A number of major issues will be addressed: election of
a CIML President for the next six years, election of a First Vice-President,
decision on the position of the BIML Director, discussion of the OIML
accounts for 2008 and 2009 and how to account for the OIML pension system,
the financial and management audit of the BIML and strategic issues identified
at the Presidential Council Meeting held recently.
Again this year, I invite you to take the floor during
the CIML meeting to express your point of view. Translation in both French
and English will be provided.
As you know, it is essential the Committee have sufficient
voting Members for a quorum. Therefore:
- if you are unable to personally attend this meeting,
please ensure you delegate your vote to a member of your staff or to
a representative of your Embassy in the USA;
- if you anticipate you or your delegation may be absent
during any of the CIML meeting sessions, please give a proxy to another
CIML Member when registering online.
The BIML has prepared this web site for the Orlando meetings,
which provides detailed information about the CIML meeting. Registration
for attendance will again this year be online via this web site. The deadline
for registering is 15 July 2010. If you are unable to register
via the web site, please contact the BIML and alternative arrangements
will be made.
Lastly, considering the September date of this CIML meeting
and that obtaining a USA entry visa may be a lengthy process, I urge you
to submit your registration and to apply for a visa as soon as possible.
Looking forward to seeing you again in Orlando,
Yours faithfully,
Alan E. Johnston
President, CIML
